Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Ur Basketball mobile application (the “App”) and related services (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

 

If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1) Summary

- Live game information may be delayed or wrong; do not rely on it for critical decisions.

- We may change or discontinue features at any time.

- You must use the Services lawfully and not abuse or disrupt them.

- Our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed by law (consumer rights are not affected).

3) Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Services.

If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

 

If you are under 13, you should only use the Services with the permission and involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

4) Account types

The Services may support

- Anonymous accounts (limited / device-based identity)

- Registered accounts (e.g., Apple, Google, Facebook sign-in, Email & Password)

You are responsible for keeping access to your device/account secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

A) App stores and device providers

If you download the App from Apple’s App Store or Google Play, you agree to comply with their terms and policies. Apple and Google are not responsible for the Services (except as required by law).

5) Licence to use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

A) Our intellectual property

The Services (including the App, design, text, graphics, logos, and underlying software) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the licence in section 4, you receive no rights in the Services.

6) Acceptable use

You agree not to:

- misuse the Services, attempt to access them using a method other than the intended interfaces, or interfere with security-related features

- scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Services (except where expressly permitted by us)

- attempt to bypass rate limits, access controls, or other protective measures

- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where permitted by law

- introduce malware, automate abusive requests, or degrade service availability

- use the Services unlawfully or to infringe others’ rights

7) Sports data, live tracking, and accuracy

The Services may display fixtures, live scores, play-by-play, statistics, and other information sourced from third parties (for example, PlayHQ).

You understand and agree that:

- live data can be delayed, incomplete, incorrect, or unavailable

- we do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or timeliness

- the Services are provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon where accuracy is critical

A) No betting or financial advice

The Services do not provide betting, investment, or financial advice. Any use of information from the Services for wagering or other financial decisions is at your own risk.

B) Third-party rights and trademarks

Team, league, competition, and player names (and any logos or marks displayed) may be owned by their respective rights holders. Ur Basketball is not affiliated with any third party unless explicitly stated.

8) User-generated content (future)

If we introduce features that allow you to submit content (e.g., posts, comments, images, usernames, profile content), then:

- you remain responsible for your content and must have all rights necessary to submit it

- you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and make your content available as required to operate and promote the Services

- we may remove content, restrict visibility, or suspend accounts at our discretion (including for moderation, safety, legal compliance, or policy enforcement)

- you must not submit content that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, infringing, sexually explicit, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate

We may provide reporting tools and moderation mechanisms, but we are not obligated to monitor all content.

9) Paid features, subscriptions, and purchases (planned)

Some features may become paid, including subscriptions or one-time purchases. If/when enabled:

- pricing, billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund rules may be governed by the platform you used to purchase (Apple App Store / Google Play)

- additional terms may apply to paid features and will be disclosed at the point of purchase

10) Third-party services and open-source software

The Services use third-party services and software libraries. Your use of third-party services may be subject to their terms and policies. Open-source components may be governed by their respective licences (see “Third‑Party Licenses” in the App where available).

A) Feedback

If you submit suggestions or feedback, you grant us the right to use it without restriction or compensation.

11) Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data. By using the Services, you acknowledge our Privacy Policy.

12) Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time if:

- you breach these Terms

- we reasonably believe your use creates risk or legal exposure

- we discontinue or materially change the Services

You may stop using the Services at any time. Account deletion options may be available in the App.

13) Changes to the Services and Terms

We may update the Services and these Terms. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the App. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14) Disclaimers

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Nothing in these Terms affects rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including consumer rights).

A) Indemnity (where permitted)

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

- your breach of these Terms

- your unlawful use of the Services

- your content (if user-generated content features are enabled)

15) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits/revenue, business interruption, or loss of data

- our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services is limited to the greater of (a) £100 or (b) the amount you paid to us for the Services in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (if any)

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

A) Force majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control (including outages of third-party providers, network failures, or events of force majeure).

16) Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services, subject to any mandatory consumer protections.

A) Severability and assignment

- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits/revenue, business interruption, or loss of data

- our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services is limited to the greater of (a) £100 or (b) the amount you paid to us for the Services in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (if any)
